Unique learners benefit from activities that promote the integration of the right and left hemispheres of the brain. Generally, these activities involve use of the large muscles with an emphasis on timing and rhythm as well as an essential component of crossing the midline with the extremity. Activities that promote right brain/left brain processing and crossing the midline can stimulate the two hemispheres of the brain to function together. An example activity would be the “patty-cake” type of hand game.
