The sensory system consists of taste, touch, smell, sight, hearing, vestibular, and proprioceptive information. This sensory information can come from the internal or the external environment. The information is registered by the entire sensory processing system: the brain, nerves and organs. The brain integrates the sensory information and relays it to various body systems in order to organize a response.
